Medical device makers are still suffering from chip shortages, although most are easing, UK medical device maker Smith&Nephew said recently.
Deepak Nath, chief executive of Smith&Nephew, said the order book for medical device manufacturers was smaller than customers in many other industries, so chipmakers were not prioritising the supply of chips for the medical device industry. The supply of chips to the healthcare industry remains problematic.
